Q: Is the Camp available for rent outside of camping or respite weekends?
A: Yes, the facilities are available through Dare to Care Charities, Inc. (DTCC) for leasing and renting throughout the year. For more information, please contact DTCC at 540-947-5696 or visit their website at www.daretocarecharities.com. Return to Top

Q: Is there a deposit required? Return to Top
A: There is a $50.00 deposit that is NON-REFUNDABLE. In the event the camper is unable to attend, the balance will be refunded if cancellation is made at least two (2) weeks prior to the scheduled session. Camper reservations made, but not used will be billed for the full amount unless canceled as described.

A: Yes, you may become a member of our Vacation Club Plan (for more information on the Vacation Club Plan, please contact us at 800-865-0092 x38). Please keep in mind that interest from the date of payment shall accrue on any payment not made within ten (10) days from due date (10th of each month) at the rate of three percent (3.0%).

A: Camp fees are due before opening day of camp session, unless you are on the Vacation Club Plan.

Q: What time should we plan to pick up our camper for weekend respite and what if I am late? Return to Top
A: You should plan to arrive and pick up your camper on Sunday BEFORE 12:00. Anyone not picked up before 12:00 noon will be charged a $75 late fee.

A: You should plan to arrive for weekend respite on Friday starting at 4:30 PM. You should expect the registration to last until around 5:30 PM. You MUST stay with your camper until they have completed the entire registration progress including all medications.

Q: What time should we plan to pick up our camper from summer camp and what if I am late? Return to Top
A: You should plan to arrive and pick up your camper on Friday BEFORE 12:00. Anyone not picked up before 12:00 noon will be charged a $75 late fee.

A: You should plan to arrive for summer camp on Sunday (first day of camp) starting at 2:00 PM. You should expect the registration process to last until around 4:00 PM. You MUST stay with your camper until they have completed the entire registration progress including all mediations

A: No, Camp Virginia Jaycee, Inc. accepts any and all donations…regardless of the amount.

A: Yes, Camp Virginia Jaycee, Inc. is a 501(c)3 corporation and all donations are tax deductible.

A: We actually offer several methods by which you may donate to Camp Virginia Jaycee.
You may visit our website at www.campvirginiajaycee.org and click on the "DONATE NOW" under our logo on the top left-hand side of our homepage which will take you to our secure connection and allow you to make a donation using your credit card, PayPal account (if you have one) or your bank account. You do not need a PayPal account to donate or pay. You may also send check or money orders to:

Q: I see you require a medical exam by a licensed physician within the 12 months prior to attending Camp Virginia Jaycee; May we use a previous exam that was completed for either school or Special Olympics? Return to Top
A: Yes, campers may use a medial exam within 12 months prior to attending Camp Virginia Jaycee as long as it is performed by a licensed physician for either school or Special Olympics. Please make sure you include a copy of the exam with a licensed physician's signature in the application package you submit.
Q: What are the requirements to attend Camp Virginia Jaycee? Return to Top
A: Potential campers must be classified as a person with special needs and be at least 7 years of age. Individuals who need to be restrained at night are not candidates for attendance as well as individuals whose behavior is aggressive to the extent that it causes physical damage. Locked areas are not available at the camp and behavior of this type interferes with the safety and welfare of others and adversely affects their camping experience. Activities that are offered include swimming, arts and crafts, barn and animal care, sports and games, music, tent camping, fishing, climbing wall, hayrides, evening programs and more!
